Our Team
Ian has been working as an archaeological consultant for the past 10 years in British Columbia. He has also worked in England and Turkey on various digs and completed his MSc at University College London in 2005. Ian completed his BA in Archaeology at Simon Fraser University in 1999. Ian is a Professional member of the BC Association of Professional Archaeologists and serves as the current President and is a member of the Membership Committee. Ian is currently the immediate Past-President of the Archaeological Society of BC and also a member of the World Archaeological Congress and Canadian Archaeological Association. When not conducting archaeological surveys or excavations, Ian is happy analysing lithics and faunal remains.
Natasha has over a dozen years of experience in heritage research and practice. She has a longstanding interest in and commitment to working with and in Aboriginal communities in Canada. Natasha is especially interested in fostering and facilitating the abilities of local Indigenous communities to find their individual voices and achieve their self-defined heritage goals. Through schooling and practical experience she has accrued a range of technical, communication, and project management skills. Natasha is a practicing palaeoethnobotanist, traditional use specialist, archaeologist and anthropologist. Recent focuses include developing tools and strategies to facilitate community-based heritage projects, including community engagement and consultation, the development of technical and research capacity, and methods of effective communication and dissemination of ongoing results. Natasha has also worked with community-based organizations to develop culturally-appropriate curriculum.
