Training and Capacity Building
Training and capacity building revolves around the development of skills, knowledge, and human resources in communities. Natasha has been involved in many heritage projects driven by First Nations and Inuit communities that have training and capacity building components. Some of these projects have involved training youth and other community members about archaeology and palaeoethnobotany, including the techniques of excavation, processing, analysis, and reporting. She has also conducted training related to research, writing and computer skills in the aid of heritage projects. The ultimate goal of this kind of work is to develop resources within communities so that they can pursue their self-defined heritage (and other) goals in house.
