Archaeologist

Locations: Southern Interior and Coastal BC

Ursus Heritage Consulting Ltd., located in Vernon, BC, seeks an experienced consulting archaeologist for a full time Archaeologist position.  Most work will take place in the Southern Interior or Southern Coast. Remote office work from locations across southern BC is a possibility.

Applicants must have a Bachelors or graduate degree in archaeology or anthropology, with a field school, familiarity with BC archaeology, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must be capable of working in a quality and deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision, and comfortable working in the field for long hours. 

The position is field and office based. Responsibilities include field work, report writing, interacting with clients and government personnel. Preferred applicants will have worked on the Interior Plateau and Northwest Coast regions. 

Applicants must be physically fit, have OFA Level 1 First Aid, and hold a valid BC Driver’s License.

Salary will be commensurate with education, skills and experience.
